Driver disabled in crash accepts $12 million
Published on May 21, 2004, The Buffalo News Inc.

A Walden Galleria jewelry store manager permanently disabled in a head-on crash has accepted an insurance settlement of $12 million, her attorney said Thursday.

Becki Perry, 30, of Lockport, a mother of two, agreed to the settlement from insurance carriers for Bitterman’s Automotive Center of Amherst and Joshua R. Steinman, of Lockport, driver of a loaner car that caused the crash, said Joy Ellen Miserendino, her attorney.

Perry was driving home from work June 29, 2000, when Steinman, driving a loaner while his car was being repaired by Bitterman’s, crossed lanes and slammed into her vehicle on Robinson Road near Beattie Road in the Town of Lockport, Miserendino said.

Perry suffered massive cranial fractures - a head injury that required major reconstructive surgery - and multiple spinal injuries, her attorney said.
